While working with The Cliffs Communities, the developer initially envisioned a simple open-air pavilion for a mountaintop chapel. But standing on that 3,000-foot site, overlooking Greenville and the western Blue Ridge Mountains, I knew the setting demanded something greater.
I independently collaborated with Stephen Fuller to sketch a vision for a fully enclosed chapel that could serve year-round and match the majesty of its surroundings. When Jim Anthony, The Cliffs’ founder, saw the rendering, he was inspired to build it — commissioning Gabriel Builders for the construction.
The completed Cliffs Glassy Chapel quickly became an icon of the Upstate — its soaring glass façade and panoramic backdrop making it one of the most photographed chapels in the Southeast.
